A New Bowl in Frisco: Arkansas State vs. Missouri State
Frisco, Texas, is set to host a new bowl game, replacing the Bahamas Bowl, with an exciting Arkansas State vs. Missouri State matchup. The game will take place at the Ford Center at The Star on December 18th, with a kickoff time of 9 p.m. ET. This addition to the college football bowl season brings the total number of bowl games to 41, accommodating 82 bowl-eligible teams.
The Bahamas Bowl, which began in 2014, will not be held again in 2023 due to venue availability. This marks the end of a chapter for the bowl, which was not played in the Bahamas as planned last year. Instead, Charlotte hosted the event.
Arkansas State, led by coach Butch Jones, secured its third consecutive bowl appearance after winning five of their last seven games. Missouri State, in its first year in Conference USA, transitioning from the FCS to the FBS, also earned its first-ever bowl bid. The Bears' success, along with Delaware's, filled the remaining spots, making it a highly competitive season.
The Ford Center at The Star will not only host the Arkansas State-Missouri State game but also the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl on December 23rd. This year, the Frisco Bowl was relocated to the Ford Center due to renovations at Toyota Stadium, where it had been held since 2017. The center is now a hub for college football action, providing an exciting experience for fans and players alike.
Stay tuned for more updates on the bowl season and the exciting games ahead!
